Culbertson Law Group, P.L.L.C. recently hired attorney Matt Kozyra. A former member of the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, Kozyra was brought on board to represent veterans and active duty military personnel.
“Mr. Kozyra’s extensive experience and the quality of his active duty military service made him the perfect choice for this position,” said, Richard A. Culbertson, founder of Culbertson Law Group, P.L.L.C., which has offices in Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Leesburg.
Kozyra has represented hundreds of active duty military personnel, retirees, and their families over the past seven years while on active duty as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. He will be responsible for the Veterans Benefits division of Culbertson Law Group, P.L.L.C., handling cases such as VA disability claims appeals, discharge upgrades, and Physical Evaluation Board cases.
Kozyra received his BA and Juris Doctor from the University of Florida. While serving as a Lieutenant in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps he was one of only three uniformed disability attorneys representing sailors and Marines from around the world at formal Physical Evaluation Boards, as well as VA Rating Reconsiderations.
As the author of the Navy’s Disability Law Hornbook, Kozyra has provided training to the Navy Board Adjudicators. He is also a speaker at the annual National Disability Evaluation System Symposium on new and upcoming issues of importance to all military and civilian attorneys throughout the country who represent veterans and active duty personnel.
Kozyra is a proud member of the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA), the Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council for the city of Orlando, and the Orange County Bar Association.
