Egypt’s embassy in Rome hosts symposium on new investment law

Cairo: The Egyptian Embassy in Rome hosted a symposium on the new investment law. The event was attended by major Italian firms, topped by VINAVIL company for petrochemical industries that have been operating in Egypt for 30 years. The event was also attended by representatives of TECHNIQUES firm and officials from bank UNICREDIT and others. The Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that Egyptian Acting Ambassador Ayman Tharwat reviewed trade exchange between Egypt and Italy that hit 4.6 billion euros in 2016, making Italy an important trading partner of Egypt. For his part, Tarek Riyad, a professor of commercial law in the German University in Cairo, reviewed the most important advantages of the new investment law and its impact on foreign investors operating in Egypt.
