Ms. Mock is an Accredited Estate Planner® and an Accredited Attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She practices law with The Peninsula Center for Estate and Lifelong Planning in Williamsburg while teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the College of William & Mary Law School in the fields of elder law, disability law, and estate planning. She held the title of St. George Tucker Adjunct Professor of Law with the William & Mary Law School at the College of William & Mary in 2014, and she has served as the college’s director of the Elder and Disability Law Clinic since 2012. She served with the U.S. Army as a legal specialist from 1986 to 1989 before working in the private sector, and has been rated 10.0 Superb with Avvo since 2010.

Ms. Mock earned a BA in English, summa cum laude, with the European division of the University of Maryland and an MA in English education and literature from Old Dominion University. She completed a JD from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 2000, and passed the bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She worked with the law firm of Jones, Blechman, Woltz and Kelly, PC, from 1999-2010 and began working in academia as an Adjunct Professor of Law in 2004, where she first taught with the legal skills program at the Marshall-Wythe Law School from 2004-2011. She also taught the law school’s estate and gift tax course from 2005 to 2012, before starting the Elder and Disability Law Clinic in 2012. In 2010 she founded the Peninsula Center for Estate and Lifelong Planning.

Ms. Mock is admitted to practice with the Supreme Court of Virginia, the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She was honored as one of Virginia’s Exceptional Lawyers by Richmond Magazine in 2017, has been selected as a Rising Star of Virginia Super Lawyers from 2007 to 2008 and a Virginia Super Lawyer from 2013 to 2017, as well as a 2015 and 2017 Top Lawyer of Virginia by Virginia Coastal Magazine. She was the recipient of the 2013 and 2015 Client Distinction Award from Martindale-Hubbell, as well as a Legal Elite of Virginia Business Magazine from 2004 to 2009, and again in 2015, and she is a 2014 Expert Resource of the Worldwide Registry.

Ms. Mock has supported numerous legal and estate planning groups, and is the current president of the Peninsula Estate Planning Council for the Virginia Peninsula. She is active with the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association and is an officer and director of the Williamsburg House of Mercy. She holds a seat with the advisory Board of Dream Catchers, and previously served on the Mary Immaculate Hospital Board for many years as well as the Board for Avalon: A Center for Women and Children. She is the daughter of Dr. Richard W. Klatt of Las Vegas, Nevada and recently celebrated her 30th anniversary with husband, Michael. They have two children.
