The professional services sector in Wales not only supports businesses to expand, but is a key job creator and investor in the Welsh economy in its own right.
And here are just a number of legal and accountancy firms in Wales with a positive story to tell.
As part of 28 senior promotions made across the firm, Eversheds Sutherland (International), has made three legal director appointments at its Cardiff office.
Jason French-Williams and Sally Isaacs in the human resources team and Glenn Newberry in the litigation and dispute management team, have each been promoted to legal director.

Leading UK-wide law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has promoted Clare Gregory, based at its Cardiff office, to partner.
Ms Gregory joined the firm in 2014 and specialises in real estate finance with particular emphasis on investment and development funding.
She advises clearing and private banks, building societies, specialist lenders and borrowers (both corporate and individual) on all aspects of lending transactions.

Five team members at Kilsby Williams are celebrating twenty-five years’ service with the accountancy firm.
Senior Partner Stephen Williams established Kilsby Williams in 1991 along with Andrew Kilsby – who has recently retired.
The fledgling company was soon joined by managing partner Simon Tee, client administration and IT manager Belinda Moore, tax manager Wendy Burden andsSenior Manager Michelle Erickson.
All have risen through the ranks during their time with Kilsby Williams, with Simon progressing from senior, to client manager, then to managing partner in November last year. Simon is now responsible for shaping the firm’s business strategy and the day-to-day management of the business.
Based at Newport’s Celtic Springs Business Park head office, the independent firm of Chartered Accountants and commercial business advisors now employs 45 people and services clients in the Midlands and greater London as well as across Wales.
Prior to establishing Kilsby Williams, Mr Williams for Touche Ross – now Deloitte.
He said: “Some 25 years ago Andrew and I spotted an opening in the marketplace to set up an accountancy firm in south east Wales specialising in private family business with a particular emphasis on taxation. After many sleepless nights, we decided to take the plunge and create Kilsby Williams.
“Our first office was essentially two rooms in premises in Caerau Road in Newport from which we moved to Clytha Park Road, then Shire Hall. From there we set up home in Celtic Springs where we have been based ever since.
“We still, very much, hold on to our original ideals in providing quality advice to successful private family business mainly within the environs of South East Wales, although we do have clients all over the UK, with particular emphasis in London. “
Swansea headquartered JCP Solicitors, has advised Macron SpA, one of Europe’s leading sportswear manufacturers, on a new retail services deal.
The deal will see Macron supply Scarlets Rugby merchandise through the club’s retail outlets and website, which Macron will now run though its retail partner, A.N.D Textiles Ltd.
The five-year agreement supplements Macron’s Technical Kit Supplier Agreement with the Scarlets, which will commence next season

Macron already supplies apparel to more than forty professional clubs across the continent including, Lazio, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Nice, Deportivo La Coruna, New Zealand Rugby League and Crystal Palace.
The Scarlets will now wear home and away kit supplied by Macron as well as training gear and leisure wear, match day, training and travel kit, and Macron will supply fans wear and accessories alike.
David Thompson of Thompson Darwin advised Scarlets Rugby in connection with the agreement.
Law firm Blake Morgan has climbed the rankings for the second year running in a list of employers that graduates would most like to work for.
The Cardiff firm is named in this year’s The Guardian UK 300, which is compiled from research conducted by international research firm trendence and lists the 300 most popular employers for UK graduates.
Blake Morgan saw its placing rise to 174 – a leap up from the ranking last year of 183. The law firm’s position was 286 in the previous year.
Students who took part in the survey were asked which career sectors interested them most, and were then invited to choose which graduate employers within those sectors they would most want to work for.
Blake Morgan runs a number of initiatives to attract the best young talent, including a graduate programme designed to give trainees opportunities to succeed in a nurturing training environment.

South Wales-wide law firm Devonalds has invested £425,000.00 to purchase and refurbish new office premises within Bridgend town centre, supported by Barclays.
The investment will support the business growth strategy, as it forecasts to grow turnover in 2017 and provide capacity for future growth.
In addition to now occupying the premises at Dunraven Place, Bridgend, Devonalds also has offices in Pontypridd, Talbot Green, Tonypandy & Tylorstown.
The general practice has been established since 1982 and specialises in business and commercial services, property, family, personal injury and wills & probate, currently employing 45 staff.

Greenaway Scott Group has launched a new corporate finance lead advisory boutique
The award-winning Cardiff-based business advisory firm has joined forces with Lime Finance to launch Verde Corporate Finance. This will operate as an advisory boutique within the Greenaway Scott Group, with the leading firm taking a 51 per cent stake in the new joint venture.Heading up Verde Corporate Finance is experienced corporate finance director Tom O’Brien, who will act as lead advisor for the business.
Mr O’Brien was previously corporate finance manager at award-winning Top 15 Group of UK Chartered Accountants UHY Hacker Young, and also previously the acquisitions director for design practice HLN Group.
